CODE OF PRACTICE FOR EOCI CONSULTANTS

All EOCI Consultants endorse and follow this Code of Practice as a condition of being an EOCI Consultant.
- Approach – to listen to the Client outlining the Task, to understand the Client’s requirements for that Task before offering advice and, in offering that advice, to maintain a balanced and comprehensive approach
- Confidentiality – to regard all conversations and information shared with the EOCI Consultant by the Client as being “in confidence” unless explicitly indicated by the Client as being able to be shared more widely.
- Management – to utilise fair and best practice procedures including personal professional accountability for actions taken and time and resources expended
- Integrity – to avoid any circumstances in undertaking the Task which may compromise professional objectivity, impartiality or independence in relations with Clients or actions that may be, or may appear to be, acting to further the personal interests of the EOCI Consultant or the interests of any other group, company or provider of equipment or services
- Professional Development – in the professional field of the Consultant, and in the field where they are offering to provide consultancy services, to ensure state of the art awareness, education and training
- Public Awareness – to encourage broader understanding of space issues actively, neutrally and impartially and with relevance to the external subject areas under consideration
Definitions:
- Task:
- A recognised EOCI Consultancy Task, as being agreed in writing between the Client and a Director of EOCI
- Consultant:
- Current individual member of EOCI Consultancy Team
- Client:
- Those in receipt of the Consultant’s advice or expertise, being in return for fees, services, or being offered by the Consultant in a pro bono capacity, while undertaking a recognised EOCI Task.
